I heard it on the beach the other day it reminds me of good times in Magaluf 1995 and is one of the catchiest songs ever, but it got me thinking…
What is love?
The funny thing about those lyrics is well yes maybe love does hurt sometimes.
Not because it’s meant to break us, but because when you truly care about someone, you become vulnerable. You worry about them. You miss them. You celebrate their wins as if they’re your own. Their happiness matters to you.
And maybe that’s the beautiful kind of hurt.
Because when you find that special someone, love isn’t about avoiding pain, it’s about finding someone who’s worth opening your heart to.
Maybe love is butterflies and fireworks.
Maybe it’s laughing until your stomach hurts.
Maybe it’s a long walk on the beach.
Maybe it’s your dog waiting by the door.
Maybe it’s choosing kindness when it’s would be easier not to.
Maybe it’s simply feeling safe enough to be completely yourself.
The older I get, the more I think love isn’t just something we feel… it’s something we choose, every single day.
