Rain on your wedding day is supposed to be good luck because it signifies that your marriage will last. A knot that becomes wet is extremely hard to untie – therefore, when you “tie the knot” on a rainy day, your marriage is supposedly just as hard to unravel! In India especially, rain is said to be a blessing of wealth and fertility. Others have mentioned it as a sign of a fresh start for a couple, literally washing away the past as they enter their new life as newlyweds. But for some outdoor weddings it can be a major inconvenience, especially at the beautiful Heaven Gardens in Salt Ash where I was booked to officiate for Rachel and Sam.
I arrived and set up but I could see a massive storm coming in on the radar, just as the bride was about to arrive. Those who know me well know I am a bit of a weather nerd and when Iooked at the radar again ...hmm...not good. So I suggested we wait for half an hour so the bride would be able to enjoy the glorious surrounds of the Heaven Gardens and have the perfect outdoor wedding that they wanted. Well the heavens did open and I announced that we would be starting a bit later. The guests were happy drinking and enjoying the grazing board. The time passed quickly and as you can see from this video the happy couple got married in the sunshine and the rain passed over quickly.
So contact me shona @aye-do-weddings.com.au I am always happy to work with couples if we need to flex the time in case of weather issues or other unexpected delays.
I want your day to be as special as you are so I can accommodate a time change if we need to. Everywhere you go always take the weather with you....just in case!
